Principal Embedded SW Engineer C/C++

About the role

Johnson Controls develops fire safety technologies and is looking for an experienced Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join its Brno R&D center. You will work in a newly established team developing the next generation of fire alarm control panels and related systems, solving technical challenges in embedded software and collaborating with global experts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware for fire alarm control panels, detectors and notification devices
• Collaborate with global software teams, customers and technical support organizations
• Take part in international projects, create technical documentation and solve technical problems
• Lead, plan and track your own project progress

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in embedded software development
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and manage your own tasks

Required skills

• C programming and C++
• Version control with Git
• Nice to have: Python, Jira and Confluence, unit testing, Qt, Linux (Yocto, device drivers), safety-critical software, ARM SoCs (i.MX8, MCX N), RTOS
