Production Development Support

About the role

ABB's Process Engineering team in Brno supports the switchgear production unit by improving workflows through automation and digitalization. The role reports to the Production Development Manager and is an onsite position. It suits someone who enjoys coming up with unique solutions and turning ideas into reality.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Process Engineering department in developing the switchgear production unit
• Optimize production and non-production processes according to Lean Six Sigma principles
• Collaborate on automation projects
• Design layouts for production workplaces, lines, warehouses and similar areas
• Contribute to improvements in production supply methods
• Design assembly and handling fixtures
• Lead smaller projects independently, which can be used for Bachelor's or Master's theses
• Work with reports, models, schematics, drawings, bills of materials and other documentation
• Create process instructions

Required profile

• University student in at least the second year of study; a technical field is not required
• Creative and proactive approach to work
• Strong logical and analytical thinking, accuracy, attention to detail and reliability
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Availability to work on average at least 15 hours per week

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• English level B1 or higher
• An advantage: practical experience with AI and machine learning, and ability to work with DWG and CAD
