Senior Inventory Controls Specialist

About the role

The Senior Inventory Controls Specialist will support the execution of the global inventory management strategy for the MSD division. The role focuses on driving inventory performance improvements, coordinating Inventory Control Leads across multiple sites, and leading cross‑functional inventory optimization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross‑functional inventory improvement projects across Planning, Procurement, Operations and Finance, targeting reduction of above‑entitlement inventory, excess & obsolete (E&O) and overall inventory optimization.
• Support management of global inventory performance metrics such as Net Inventory, Days of Supply, Above Entitlement Inventory and E&O, providing visibility on key drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Act as the central coordination point for Inventory Control Leads, aligning priorities, timelines and best practices across sites.
• Drive structured management of Excess & Obsolete inventory, ensuring transparency of drivers, coordinating mitigation activities and maintaining forecasting.
• Own and continuously improve Just‑in‑Time (JIT) and consignment processes, defining standards, KPIs and ensuring alignment with inventory entitlement logic and working‑capital targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in inventory management or supply‑chain roles with a focus on performance improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to conduct root‑cause analysis and define corrective actions.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross‑functional projects and coordinate teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate regular reviews and share best practices.
