Senior Java Software Engineer – Reference Data

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Reference Data team within the Post‑Trade IT area of Deutsche Börse Group. The role will support the Clearstream Reference Data strategy and Digital CSD initiatives, covering the full software lifecycle from design to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain cloud‑native applications for reference data processing.
• Review code, identify technical debt and drive improvements in quality and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts and testers to translate business requirements into robust solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions.
• Provide on‑call support and troubleshoot production incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Curious, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Positive “can‑do” approach and collaborative working style.

Required skills

• Java, Python and SQL programming.
• ETL pipelines and data‑modeling expertise.
• Kafka streaming, AMQP, microservices, REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift, Jenkins, Ansible, Sonar and Fortify.
• Developing cloud‑native applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Copilot.
