Senior Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Sandoz, a global leader in biosimilar and generic medicines, is seeking a Senior Procurement Category Manager to shape its future supply strategy. You will lead the category strategy for Finished Dosage Forms and external supply at a regional or global level, ensuring continuity and sustainability of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute category strategy for FDF/External Supply at regional/global level.
• Translate global strategies into actionable sourcing plans aligned with business priorities.
• Drive end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including supplier identification, qualification, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Own and manage relationships with CMOs and external manufacturers, ensuring performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Deliver measurable value through cost optimisation, innovation and efficiency improvements.
• Lead cross‑functional projects involving supply chain, quality, regulatory and technical stakeholders.
• Maintain market intelligence on supplier landscape, industry trends and supply risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Significant experience in pharmaceutical procurement, especially in FDF or direct material categories.
• Proven track record working with manufacturing sites, Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) or Business Development & Licensing.
• Strong strategic sourcing and negotiation experience with high‑value, complex agreements.
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, regulatory environment and quality requirements.
• Ability to manage supplier performance and drive value through partnerships and innovation.
• Experience operating in global, cross‑cultural environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project leadership skills, fluency in English.
