Senior Technical Domain Lead

About the role

You’ll own the technical direction for one of Rohlik’s core domains, shaping architecture, delivery, and AI‑enabled practices. This staff‑plus individual contributor role has no direct reports but influences multiple teams across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Own the long‑term technical vision, architecture and strategic direction of the domain.
• Lead cross‑team design discussions, architectural reviews and delivery of major initiatives.
• Partner with engineering managers, product engineers and product owners to translate business goals into sound technical strategy.
• Drive high standards for security, scalability and performance and ensure they are adopted.
• Champion agentic‑first development practices to help engineers ship faster.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews and raising the bar on quality.
• Support multiple engineering teams by unblocking complex issues and setting clear technical standards.
• Provide input into group‑wide engineering strategy, technology selection and platform direction.

Required profile

• Designed and scaled large, mission‑critical systems serving real users at scale.
• Made lasting architectural decisions and can clearly articulate the trade‑offs considered.
• Can align senior engineers and drive consensus without formal authority.
• Deep expertise in a specific technical domain such as payments, logistics, customer experience or AI/ML.
• Mentored senior engineers, changing how they approach problems.
• Enthusiastic about using AI to fundamentally improve engineering workflows.
