Software Engineer – Core (Backend)

About the role

As a member of the Core Team at Rekenber, you will build the technical foundation for our AI‑driven collections platform. You will design, develop, and maintain the backend services that power data ingestion, document generation, and decision‑making for our financial institution clients in Czechia.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Develop and orchestrate data pipelines with Prefect, leveraging Dask or Spark for large‑scale processing.
• Maintain and optimise data stores in PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch.
• Integrate machine‑learning models (scikit‑learn, NumPy, OpenCV) into production workflows.
• Containerise services with Docker Swarm and prepare migration to Kubernetes or Nomad.
• Write automated tests, configure CI pipelines in CircleCI, and manage infrastructure with Terraform.
• Collaborate directly with the founding team to shape product and technical direction.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and building backend systems and REST APIs.
• Strong programming skills in at least one backend language and willingness to work in Python.
• Ability to create well‑tested, extensible, and documented codebases.
• Self‑starter attitude with ownership of ideas and results‑driven mindset.
