About the role

Join Global Payments Europe as a Solution Architect and help shape the future of global commerce. You will own the end‑to‑end architecture of Genius POS platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals while driving innovation through AI‑enabled capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver architecture for one or more POS platforms, guaranteeing security, scalability, and resilience.
• Design payment capabilities, integrations, and APIs that enable seamless interoperability across platforms, shared services, and third‑party ecosystems.
• Lead the adoption of AI‑driven features such as merchant‑facing experiences, agentic workflows, and developer productivity tools.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to guide technical decisions, balance trade‑offs, and embed architectural excellence throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Establish reusable patterns, influence cross‑functional architecture decisions, and mentor engineers on best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead with a strong software engineering foundation.
• Deep expertise in payments and commerce technologies, including PCI‑sensitive architectures, tokenization, and secure partner integrations.
• Strong knowledge of modern cloud and software architecture patterns, especially microservices, event‑driven systems, and DevOps practices.
• Hands‑on experience applying AI technologies in production, from conversational AI to AI‑assisted development tools.
• Pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset with excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor teams.
