Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Lear is a global automotive technology company supplying seating and E-systems solutions to vehicle manufacturers. Its Technical Center in Pilsen is one of the largest Lear development centers in Europe, employing 300 professionals. This Supplier Quality Engineer role covers supplier quality activities for projects, from prototype to serial production.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier component qualification for new projects
• Manage supplier quality activities from prototype to serial phase in given projects
• Perform technical analysis and root cause analyses
• Coordinate daily activities with other SQA engineers and cross-functional project teams
• Support suppliers' industrialization and validation processes
• Perform preventive audits and ensure supplier quality goals are met to improve customer satisfaction and reduce quality costs
• Monitor and report supplier quality performance through defined indicators
• Support and validate problem resolution actions in serial production and new launches

Required profile

• University degree; technical background is an advantage
• Minimum of 3 years of supplier quality experience in the automotive industry
• Advanced level of English; German or French is an advantage
• Preferred experience with plastic or injection molding commodities
• Willingness to travel approximately 25-50%
• Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, negotiation and communication skills, and very good organization and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Core quality tools: 8D, APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA and PPAP methodology
• Knowledge of VDA standards
