Supply Chain Engineer (Low Voltage Switchgear)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Supply Chain Engineer to join the Low Voltage Switchgear business unit in Blučina, Czech Republic. You will act as a key partner for suppliers and internal teams, driving cost optimisation, supplier development and overall supply‑chain efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lead sourcing and tender processes, including all required documentation.
• Identify, select and develop new suppliers while managing relationships with existing ones.
• Negotiate commercial terms focusing on cost, quality and delivery reliability.
• Collaborate with internal departments to optimise material costs and improve supply‑chain efficiency.
• Support supplier audits and conduct continuous‑improvement and cost‑saving projects.
• Report results and cooperate closely with other functions.
• Utilise the SAP ERP system for procurement activities.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Czech for daily communication and negotiations.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Process‑oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, attention to detail and proactive execution.
• Valid Category B driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Previous experience in strategic purchasing or supply‑chain management within a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with SAP (advantage).
