SW Developer – Microcontrollers

About the role

Join NXP's R&D centers in Brno or Roznov to develop production‑grade software for MCUXpresso SDK and Zephyr RTOS on NXP micro‑controllers. You will work on drivers, subsystems, and middleware for next‑generation automotive, IoT and smart‑city applications.

Key responsibilities

• Implement drivers, subsystems and middleware in C for new MCU devices.
• Create Zephyr support (device tree, DTS bindings, Kconfig) and bring up boards & SoCs (clock, pinmux, power, boot, memory maps).
• Write samples, tests and contribute upstream via PRs, reviews, RFCs and CI fixes.
• Diagnose low‑level issues using debuggers, traces and logic analyzers.

Required profile

• Practical experience with embedded programming in C and a solid understanding of microcontroller architecture.
• Strong analytical mindset, reliable debugging skills and familiarity with standard software development workflows.
• Proficiency with GIT or other version‑control tools and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• C programming for embedded systems
• MCUXpresso or similar silicon‑vendor ecosystem
• Zephyr RTOS (device tree, Kconfig, west)
• MCU interfaces: SPI, I²C, UART, I²S, SDIO
• Git version control
• Python scripting and build tools such as make
• Rust (optional)
