Legal Counsel – In‑house Lawyer (Czech Republic)

About the role

As our Legal Counsel, based in the Czech Republic, you'll be a core member of our in‑house legal team in a global tech company, providing advice on a broad range of legal matters with a main focus on commercial agreements and the compliance agenda focused mainly on data protection and AI governance. You will own contract negotiations and legal analysis directly, while helping build internal processes in a fast‑growing SaaS business.

Key responsibilities

• Revise and draft commercial contracts and customised versions of template documents.
• Lead contract negotiations with customers and suppliers.
• Own and improve the compliance agenda, especially data protection and AI governance.
• Maintain and update the contract repository in our legal tool.
• Prepare legal analysis covering complex or ambiguous questions.
• Provide legal support to the sales team throughout the whole contracting process.
• Identify and drive improvements to internal legal processes and templates.
• Work closely with other teams on the wider daily legal agenda.
• Report directly to the company's Director of Legal Affairs.

Required profile

• Master's degree in law.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an in‑house counsel or at a law firm.
• Strong working knowledge of Czech and EU legislation.
• General knowledge of IT law and data protection law, especially GDPR.
• Excellent English skills, written and verbal, including legal English.
• Very good communication, drafting, and negotiating skills with the ability to work independently.
• Proactive mindset, comfortable identifying improvement opportunities.
• Experience with AI tools is a strong plus.
