Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Cloudbeds is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Point‑of‑Sale (POS) team. You will help shape the next generation of the POS experience used by hospitality properties worldwide, working fully remotely from anywhere in Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and operate the Cloudbeds POS mobile app (React Native & Expo) and its backend services (Python & FastAPI).
• Develop offline‑first capabilities using SQLite, write‑ahead logging, synchronization and conflict‑handling.
• Maintain and evolve the infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Argo CD, Helm) on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Implement reliable APIs, data models, caching and recovery paths using PostgreSQL and Valkey.
• Collaborate with product, design and operations to ensure high usability, reliability and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience building customer‑facing POS or similar high‑availability applications.
• Strong focus on usability, reliability and performance under real‑world conditions.
• Comfortable working across the full stack, from mobile UI to backend services and cloud infrastructure.
