Cash Allocation Specialist

About the role

The Cash Allocation Specialist reviews daily bank transfers and cheque payments received at the European locations, allocates customer receipts to the correct accounts and invoices, and updates SAP accurately. The role also covers cash postings, intercompany work and ad-hoc reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Daily processing of GBP/EUR/USD bank statements and cheques received at European locations
• Post cash received from trade customers into SAP, Oracle or another ERP, matching receipts with open sales invoices according to remittance advice
• Work closely with Credit Controllers to keep customer accounts accurate
• Cooperate with accounting staff in the respective countries and the shared services centre
• Support monthly bank reconciliation and other ad-hoc duties
• Assist with setup, testing and configuration of cash application software
• Administer intercompany customers, prepare intercompany netting files, perform intercompany recharges and assist the General Ledger team
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and contribute ideas to improve the accounts receivable function

Required profile

• Methodical, accurate and detail-conscious
• Intermediate English
• Excel knowledge, especially pivots and VLOOKUPs
• ERP experience is an advantage but not required
