Cloud Systems Engineer

About the role

FNZ is looking for a Cloud / Systems Engineer to provide high-quality, timely support for the availability, stability and performance of Capital Markets systems serving global enterprise clients. The role covers AWS-based infrastructure, Linux and database environments, and works closely with project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Support highly available, secure and scalable applications and infrastructure on AWS cloud compute and storage platforms.
• Build and deploy FNZ Capital Markets Linux and database environments in AWS.
• Support and maintain FNZ CM client applications running in AWS.
• Work with project managers to outline activities and estimates for environment builds.

Required profile

• Experience with core AWS services such as EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, VPC, Glacier and IAM.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Terraform.
• Good knowledge of Red Hat / Oracle Linux administration and of PostgreSQL / Aurora.
• Tertiary qualification in IT or engineering or comparable industry certification.
• Reasonable networking knowledge, demonstrated scripting ability, good communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team.
• Advantageous: Red Hat and Kubernetes certifications, AWS certifications, ability to work independently, and good documentation skills.
