Data Engineering Manager – Remote (Czech Republic)

About the role

Cimpress Technology is looking for a senior leader to own and evolve its operational and analytical data platforms. You will shape real‑time data flows, drive analytics modernization, and enable advanced AI initiatives across a global mass‑customization business.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead operational data flows, design an Operational Data Store and build low‑latency streams with Kafka or Flink.
• Evolve the analytical ecosystem, own Snowflake scaling, and implement robust ELT patterns using dbt and Airflow.
• Champion data governance, ensuring dashboards and reports are backed by high‑quality, audited data.
• Build the data foundation for machine learning, develop feature stores, automated pipelines, and integrate vector databases for LLM‑based features.
• Provide strategic leadership, mentor a high‑performing team, manage Data FinOps, and partner with product and executive leadership.

Required profile

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with at least 3 years in a formal leadership role.
• Proven experience architecting cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Python and SQL for automation and complex modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with real‑time streaming technologies like Kafka, Flink, or Spark Streaming.
• Strong background in AWS cloud engineering, including event‑driven pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
