Director, Manufacturing Platforms

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Director to lead our Digital Shop Floor product line and Manufacturing Systems Centers of Excellence. In this senior position you will shape the roadmap for manufacturing IT solutions, ensuring they are robust, compliant, and deliver measurable business value across our global biopharmaceutical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously refine product and technology roadmaps aligned with digital manufacturing strategies.
• Direct global deployment, scale‑up, and standardization of Digital Shop Floor solutions.
• Drive adoption, operationalization, and continuous improvement of MES, LIMS, historians, and analytics platforms.
• Identify new use cases, lead proof‑of‑concepts, and pilot emerging automation and analytics technologies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing operations, quality, engineering, and IT partners to enhance digital posture.
• Define and promote compliant implementation patterns for shop‑floor and lab solutions.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing team of product owners, managers, and technical professionals across multiple sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years implementing and operating digital shop‑floor systems (DCS/SCADA/PLC, OSI PI, MES, LIMS) in biopharma.
• 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, computerized system validation, and regulated environments.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate in a matrixed, global organization.
• Financial acumen for managing capital and operating budgets.
• Willingness to travel up to ~25% globally.
