Security Researcher

About the role

Cato Networks is seeking a proactive Security Researcher to join its Network Security Content team. You will investigate network protocols and application traffic, leveraging big‑data analysis frameworks and tools such as Wireshark, Fiddler, and BurpSuite to create signatures for Cato’s security products.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyse network and application behaviour for NGFW, CASB, DLP and related security solutions.
• Develop and maintain content signatures for various security and network products.
• Utilise Cato’s data warehouse and big‑data technologies to support research.
• Automate workflows to improve efficiency and deliver results at scale.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on analyst or researcher experience in cyber‑security or networking.
• Strong knowledge of networking architecture, OSI model and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP).
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in a hybrid team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python with Pandas and NumPy, or experience with LLM‑based coding workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with Wireshark, PCAP analysis and other network analysis tools.
• Experience with signature development for IPS/Firewall and SQL or data‑analysis tools is a strong advantage.
