Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer you will join a cross‑functional development team that builds the security platform protecting connected vehicles, mobility services and digital ecosystems. Based in Europe, you will work within a global managed‑services team that provides 24/7 coverage for automotive clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Tier 2‑3 investigations and response for escalated vehicle and API security alerts across connected automotive ecosystems.
• Execute, maintain and refine investigation playbooks, operational procedures and response workflows.
• Investigate complex API threats such as authorization abuse, credential attacks, injection, data exposure and business‑logic abuse.
• Analyze suspicious vehicle telemetry, API activity and authentication logs to identify root causes and mitigation steps.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and OSINT investigations to uncover emerging automotive and API attack patterns.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering operations, Tier 2‑3 incident response or security investigations.
• Strong practical expertise in API security (REST, OAuth, JWT, OWASP API Top 10) and hands‑on investigation of API threats.
• Proven experience in customer‑facing analyst roles within MSSP, consulting or professional services contexts.
• Fluent verbal and written English with excellent communication skills.
• Practical experience using AI tools via prompt engineering.
• Basic scripting experience with Python or SQL for data verification and log analysis.
