Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in Kutná Hora. The role is hybrid, with about two days per week spent in an HPE office. The engineer designs, implements and maintains security measures protecting the organisation's information systems and infrastructure, identifies vulnerabilities, monitors threats and develops strategies to mitigate risks, while contributing to the technical components of HPE products, solutions or services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage security solutions to safeguard organisational assets
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans
• Monitor network traffic and security alerts for suspicious activity
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate incident response
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats and technologies
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to enforce security policies
• Assist in compliance and audit activities related to security standards
• Lead design activities, prepare code stubs and unit tests, and mentor other developers
• Represent the team to clients and customers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security or a similar role
• Good English communication skills
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH or equivalent are an advantage

Required skills

• Security principles, threat management, vulnerability assessment, risk management and incident response
• Experience with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, vulnerability scanners and network monitoring solutions
• Risk assessments, vulnerability scanning and security audits
• Implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures and controls
