Senior UX Designer (Space Engineers Franchise)

About the role

Keen Software House is seeking a Senior UX Designer to shape the player experience for the Space Engineers franchise, including Space Engineers 1 and Space Engineers 2. You will own the interaction design of complex sandbox systems, turning intricate mechanics into clear, intuitive interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve usability issues across existing and new game features.
• Collaborate with Game Design, Art, Engineering, Production, and QA from concept to implementation.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and iterate based on testing and feedback.
• Contribute visual/UI design or technical UI prototyping to ensure seamless integration.
• Help establish and promote strong UX principles across both games.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional UX design experience in the video game industry.
• Proven track record designing UX for shipped PC or console games.
• Strong portfolio showcasing problem definition, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final solutions.
• Hands‑on experience in at least one adjacent discipline (UI/visual design, technical UI prototyping, integration, or implementation).
• Experience with sandbox, simulation, or systems‑heavy games.

Required skills

• Interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
• Design of complex systems such as inventories, building, crafting, progression, or control schemes.
