Solution Architect - Payments & POS Platforms

About the role

Tsys is looking for a Solution Architect to join its Application Architecture team within Global Payments Europe. You will own the end-to-end architecture and technical outcomes for one or more Genius POS platforms, helping shape the future of global commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical outcomes of one or more Genius POS platforms, keeping them secure, scalable and resilient.
• Drive the design of payment capabilities, integrations and APIs across POS platforms, shared services and third-party partners.
• Lead the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities such as merchant-facing experiences, agentic workflows, AI assistants and developer productivity tools.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to guide technical decisions and embed architectural excellence in the software delivery lifecycle.
• Champion platform convergence and technical enablement through reusable patterns, cross-functional architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Principal Engineer or Technical Lead with a strong software engineering foundation.
• Track record of designing and delivering complex, cloud-native platforms at scale.
• Deep expertise in payments and commerce technologies, including PCI-sensitive architectures, tokenization and API design.
• Experience applying AI technologies in real-world solutions, from conversational AI to AI-assisted development tools.
• Bonus: experience in POS, payments or commerce platforms (PCI DSS, P2PE, omnichannel payments) and hands-on work with foundation models, RAG, agentic workflows and MCP tooling.

Required skills

• Cloud and software architecture patterns: microservices, event-driven systems, integration platforms, API management, observability and DevOps.
• AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Ability to influence technical decisions, communicate across technical and business audiences and mentor teams.
