Technical Architect – External & Scientific Engagement

About the role

The External & Scientific Engagement (ESE) Product Line seeks a Technical Architect to define and execute a cohesive technology strategy, improve platform efficiency, and drive innovation across multiple products that support drug development, medical affairs, and commercial units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technology strategy and roadmap, defining conceptual, logical, and technical architecture for the product line.
• Conduct technology assessments, monitor emerging trends, and develop reusable design patterns and reference architectures.
• Collaborate with enterprise IT to identify capability gaps, align roadmaps, and maximize reuse of platforms and services.
• Drive adoption of enterprise architecture standards, providing technical leadership for scalable, high‑quality solutions.
• Facilitate communication among technical teams, business leaders, and stakeholders to support effective decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years as a Technical or Solution Architect.
• Proven ability to translate business vision into technology roadmaps and target‑state architectures.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills across technical and business audiences.

Required skills

• Design of scalable, distributed, cloud‑native architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, event‑driven architectures, integration patterns, and messaging technologies.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, search platforms, and data pipelines.
• Expertise in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, Kubernetes, site reliability and security practices.
