Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Accountant to join our finance team. The role will focus on month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing, VAT compliance across multiple European jurisdictions and close collaboration with our Shared Service Center. You will ensure accurate financial reporting while supporting internal and external audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing activities to deliver timely financial statements.
• Maintain the integrity of financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls.
• Prepare and submit Czech VAT returns, VAT Control Statements and EC Sales Lists, and support VAT reporting for Slovakia, Poland and the UK.
• Prepare documentation for tax filings and audits, liaising with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Reconcile general ledger, balance‑sheet and intercompany accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payment documentation, including bank transfers and netting transactions, and support cash‑flow monitoring and forecasting.
• Collaborate with the Shared Service Center to process supplier invoices in SAP and ensure tax compliance.
• Partner with internal teams (AP, Payroll, GL, Operations, HR, Shared Services) to resolve accounting issues.
• Ensure SOX compliance and support internal and external audits.
• Investigate and resolve accounting, tax and reporting issues promptly.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports, reconciliations and analyses as requested by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, general ledger or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, month‑end closing and VAT compliance.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Familiarity with SOX/internal controls and working with Shared Service Centers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, multinational setting.
