Crypto Backend Engineer

About the role

As a Crypto Backend Engineer at Trezor, you will develop and maintain the infrastructure that connects Trezor Suite to blockchain networks and crypto data services, ensuring reliable account discovery, transaction history, fee estimation, and more.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve reliable communication with blockchain nodes, RPC providers, explorers, and indexers across UTXO and account‑based networks.
• Maintain and actively develop Blockbook, an open‑source blockchain indexer used by major RPC providers.
• Develop backend services for fiat rates, token and coin metadata, fees, and other crypto data used throughout Trezor Suite.
• Integrate and evaluate third‑party providers, designing caching, fallback, and routing strategies.
• Enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, request optimisation and incident detection to improve reliability at scale.
• Contribute to technical decisions, architecture reviews and infrastructure planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security and product engineering teams to operate dependable and secure services.

Required profile

• Production experience building backend services in TypeScript/Node.js or Go.
• Experience designing, operating and debugging APIs or distributed services.
• Solid knowledge of SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and practical data modelling.
• Ability to investigate failures across application, network, database and third‑party service boundaries.
• Understanding of production observability, including metrics, logs, tracing and alerting.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and pragmatic technical decision‑making.
• Good written and spoken English.
