Lead Python Expert

About the role

We're Tropic Square, a Prague‑based company designing open‑source secure‑element chips. We’re looking for a Senior Expert for a software verification platform to join our hybrid team and help drive a long‑term, open‑source project at the intersection of software and hardware in the semiconductor world.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand automated flows and the hardware modelling framework.
• Build internal tooling and infrastructure that serves both the company and the wider open‑source community.
• Drive architectural decisions and set the long‑term technical direction of the codebase.
• Explore adjacent technical areas such as verification, cybersecurity, and EDA, with depth where curiosity leads.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contributors in a public, technically demanding setting.

Required profile

• Senior software engineer with a track record of designing and maintaining complex systems.
• Either has led a small team or possesses senior‑level instincts to mentor and steer without formal reports.
• Background or genuine interest in hardware, EDA, or embedded development.
• Experience or strong interest in security within a semiconductor domain.
• Comfortable evaluating trade‑offs and second‑order effects, not just shipping features.
• At home in a Unix/Linux environment and accustomed to open‑source workflows (public reviews, issue trackers, async collaboration).
