Embedded System Developer (Embedded C)

About the role

The global Fire Detection group in Brno is looking for an embedded system developer who works on fire systems, control panels, detectors and signalling equipment. You will solve dynamic technical challenges, from finding the root cause to implementing the fix, with minimum administration and maximum technical challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and enhance software for fire systems, control panels, detectors and signalling equipment.
• Develop devices using C/Embedded in a Windows development environment.
• Collaborate with global software teams, customers, technical support and NPI teams.
• Take part in international projects, create documentation and resolve technical issues.
• Use modern tools and keep developing your skills.

Required profile

• University degree in computer science, software engineering or electrical engineering.
• Proven 5+ years of experience on embedded/C devices on industrial projects.
• Experience with tools such as Git, Jira and Confluence.
• Nice to have: scripting languages (Python, Make, Bash), RTOS and Embedded Linux application development, firmware design and architecture, and debugging skills with ICE, GDB and JTAG.
• Preferred: experience with Renesas, Microchip and ST microcontrollers and their tools.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision from Engineering Managers.
