Equity Research Analyst

About the role

Impulse Capital is a private investment office based in Prague that manages its own capital with a focus on technology‑driven public equities. We are looking for an Equity Research Analyst to work closely with the principal, gaining direct ownership of research and contributing to investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate a small number of high‑conviction businesses through industry analysis, competitive assessment, and unit‑economics review.
• Build detailed financial models and write concise investment memos with clear recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio holdings by reviewing earnings releases, filings, transcripts, and news, updating theses as new information emerges.
• Develop and refine AI‑driven screening tools, scripts, and data pipelines to improve research efficiency.
• Collaborate with the principal to challenge assumptions and present evidence‑based counter‑arguments when needed.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience as an equity research analyst on the sell side, at a hedge fund, long‑only firm, or comparable analytical role in venture capital.
• Demonstrated passion for markets, especially technology sectors, with personal investment or research examples.
• Strong command of accounting, financial analysis, and valuation techniques.
• Regular use of AI tools in analytical workflows, with concrete examples.
• Intellectual honesty and willingness to question the principal’s views.
