Experienced Spacecraft Design Engineer

About the role

OHB Czechspace is seeking a passionate Spacecraft Design Engineer to contribute to the development of structural, thermal, and optical subsystems for ESA missions. You will work on the full lifecycle from concept to testing, helping shape the next generation of space systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design structural systems for satellites and launcher components.
• Create CAD models of mechanical assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and parts.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, design reports, and handling manuals.
• Participate actively in procurement, assembly, and test processes.
• Coordinate with external hardware suppliers and support manufacturing activities.
• Present work results internally and to customers, and take part in technical reviews with ESA and other international partners.
• Assist in proposal preparation and evaluation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and resilience.
• Willingness to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and undergo training.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with focus on quality and cost awareness.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Team‑oriented attitude.
