Functional Safety Engineer – ADAS

About the role

Valeo’s R&D centre in Prague is developing next‑generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety activities for sensors used in comfort and driving assistance functions such as Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure product and process compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant functional safety standards.
• Perform safety planning, hazard analyses (FMEA, FTA), reliability assessments, and develop safety concepts, validation, verification, and safety cases.
• Support hardware and software teams in implementing and verifying safety requirements.
• Interface with customers during project meetings and reviews to guarantee functional safety satisfaction.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Cybernetics or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and safety analysis methods.
• Experience with embedded system design, hardware or software development.
• Fluent English communication skills.
