Improvement Project Manager - Smart Factory

About the role

ABB is looking for an Improvement Project Manager for its medium switchgear manufacturing unit in Brno, reporting to the Process Engineering Manager. The role turns the Smart Factory vision into reality through a portfolio of changes: automation, new technologies, layout redesigns, MES implementation and new manufacturing processes. You will manage the full cycle, from idea and feasibility study and procurement to implementation and ramp-up.

Key responsibilities

• Manage strategic investment projects with a real impact on the future of manufacturing
• Lead projects from idea through feasibility, procurement, implementation and ramp-up
• Build a team and deliver results, combining engineering, organisation, communication and leadership
• Work with strong support from the process engineering team

Required profile

• Experience managing complex projects in manufacturing, automation or technical environments
• Ability to drive projects independently from A to Z
• Excellent communication skills, drive and negotiation abilities
• Systematic and analytical thinking
• English for project communication and fluency in Czech

Required skills

• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, Lean, Six Sigma and agile management is an advantage
