Quality Assurance Engineer II

About the role

Bloomreach is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer II to own testing and automation for its high‑volume Data Pipeline services. You will work on real‑time tracking, imports, and export flows that move massive amounts of customer data across Kafka, GCP, and Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain black‑box API, integration and end‑to‑end test suites for data‑pipeline services, especially in the imports domain.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (GitLab) to provide fast feedback on every change.
• Collaborate with developers during grooming and design reviews to define test cases, acceptance criteria and edge‑case scenarios.
• Turn production incidents into durable regression tests using telemetry and reproducible data.
• Help raise overall quality across the Data Pipeline core by sharing testing best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience writing test automation in Python (or Go) and comfortable reading backend code to spot gaps.
• Shift‑left mindset: actively participate in design discussions and define test strategies early.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote‑first, collaborative environment.
• Willingness to focus on automation as the primary craft, even if coming from a manual testing background.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Gemini CLI) as part of daily workflow.

Required skills

• Python (primary automation language) and basic Go code comprehension.
• Robot Framework for API and integration testing.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, BigQuery, MongoDB and Redis.
• CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jira, Confluence.
• Use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Gemini CLI.
