Senior Data Engineer

About the role

PwC's Technology Consulting team in Prague is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Management team, which delivers end-to-end data platform and analytics solutions for international and Czech clients. You will work with cloud technologies and modern data platforms, taking more ownership of data engineering projects and helping to guide technical decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Co-design, develop and maintain data pipelines using Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric and cloud-native technologies.
• Build and automate data ingestion, transformation, validation and loading processes.
• Implement integrations between databases, applications, APIs and cloud platforms.
• Work with batch and real-time data processing solutions.
• Participate in cloud migration and modern data platform initiatives.
• Investigate technical issues and prepare technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers and testing teams, and support technical workshops for clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Solid experience in software development and data engineering with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Proven project delivery experience in at least one of Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric or cloud technologies.
• Ability to explain technical designs clearly to clients and lead technical workshops.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouse architecture, data modeling, data quality, ODS or data mastering is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Git, databases and object-oriented programming.
• Certification or hands-on experience with Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps or automated testing is a plus.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark, Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow, BigQuery or similar is a plus.
• Interest in AI, LLMs and AI agents (APIs, prompt engineering, Knowledge Graph, RAG) is a plus.
