Senior Data Engineer with Snowflake - Market Data Platform

About the role

Barclays is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with Snowflake to build and scale a new market data platform in Prague, enabling and accelerating its markets data strategy. The role uses Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow and AWS to deliver governed, high-quality data at enterprise scale.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain data architectures, pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes that collect, store, process and analyse data accurately, accessibly and securely.
• Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that handle the right volumes and velocity and follow security measures.
• Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited to the data's complexity and volume.
• Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
• Contribute to strategy, plan resources and budgets, manage policies and processes, and advise stakeholders and senior management.
• Manage and mitigate risks and strengthen controls, and act as a subject-matter expert guiding technical direction and mentoring others.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Snowflake, including data sharing, secure views and multi-tenant platform design in an enterprise environment.
• Solid knowledge of Snowflake database architecture, compute management and entitlements design.
• Experience sourcing, onboarding and cataloguing data from third-party vendors (e.g. licensed market data) for controlled internal redistribution.
• Willingness to collaborate with diverse internal teams across technology, business and vendor management.

What we offer

• Salary range of CZK 1,884,000 to CZK 2,496,000 per year (base salary, full-time equivalent).
