Senior EBA Specialist (Employee Benefits Accounting)

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Senior EBA (Employee Benefits Accounting) Specialist based in Prague, Czech Republic. The role takes ownership of employee benefits accounting across assigned countries, working closely with Payroll, Finance and People & Organization teams. It involves complex accounting, financial insights and process improvement through standardization, automation and transformation in an international environment. Relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accurate and timely accounting for employee benefits, personnel costs, incentives, provisions and related liabilities.
• Deliver monthly, quarterly and year-end closing in line with Novartis accounting standards and guidelines.
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations, keeping audit-ready documentation and strong financial controls.
• Analyze financial data and variances and turn them into clear insights for stakeholders.
• Partner with Payroll, People & Organization, Financial Reporting and Accounting and General Ledger teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned countries and support operations, finance projects, audits, knowledge transfer and onboarding.
• Drive process improvements, standardization and automation.

Required profile

• Strong accounting experience, ideally in employee benefits, payroll-related accounting or record-to-report.
• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field, or a recognized accounting qualification.
• Fluent written and spoken English, able to handle tight deadlines.
• Experience in an international, cross-functional environment with strong stakeholder management.
• Desirable: SAP experience in accounting or financial reporting, and BlackLine experience for balance sheet reconciliations.

• Base salary range of 808,381 to 1,501,279 CZK, with a possible performance-based bonus.
