Senior Legal Counsel – EU Employment Law (Platform Workers)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel specializing in EU employment law for platform workers. You will join Delivery Hero’s Legal Team to provide proactive guidance, mitigate risks and support the company’s growth worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management of platform worker and rider classification risks globally, collaborating with international employment lawyers.
• Monitor and manage high‑profile litigation and regulatory investigations, developing defence strategies with local counsel.
• Partner with Product, Tech and Operations teams to understand delivery operations and support next‑generation solutions.
• Support cross‑functional teams exploring new business models and strategic opportunities related to platform work.
• Track and analyse legislative and regulatory developments affecting platform work and advise Public Policy teams.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert, providing guidance to senior management and stakeholders across the Group.

Required profile

• Fully qualified employment lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with at least 6 years of law‑firm experience and strong litigation background; in‑house experience is a plus.
• Deep expertise in platform work and worker classification, including practical knowledge of the EU Platform Workers Directive.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across multi‑jurisdictional, cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent legal drafting, executive‑level communication and presentation skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and fluency in at least one additional European language, with willingness to be based or relocate within the EU.
