Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Worldline is looking for a proactive, business‑oriented Senior Legal Counsel to support its fast‑evolving operations across Central & Eastern Europe, with a primary focus on the Czech Republic. The role combines contract work, regulatory advice, and corporate governance in a dynamic payments‑technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including IT services and commercial contracts.
• Conduct legal research, prepare internal memoranda and advise management on legal developments.
• Partner with business and project teams to provide pragmatic, solution‑oriented advice on strategic initiatives such as merchant migration and partnership renegotiations.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring alignment with applicable law and Worldline group policies.
• Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholders’ meetings and statutory compliance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal tools, templates and internal processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Master’s degree in law (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of Czech legal environment; knowledge of Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Slovenia is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments such as payments or banking is an asset.
• Excellent written and spoken English for legal and business contexts.
• Curious, adaptable, collaborative team player who thrives in an international setting.
