Structural Engineer – Steel Structures

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY CZECH REPUBLIC S.R.O. is looking for a Structural Engineer for its High Voltage Products Brno department, which works on components for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS technology) and cooling systems. The engineer collaborates with colleagues and project managers in Switzerland and Sweden on major global projects such as offshore wind farms.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complete manufacturing documentation for steel structures for international projects (wind farms, nuclear power plants, oil platforms)
• Create detailed drawings and 3D models of steel structures using Tekla Structures
• Carry out static and dynamic calculations of steel structures in Scia Software
• Calculate and assess welded and bolted connections in IdeaStatika
• Work with the Brno engineering team and external customers in Switzerland, the USA and India
• Help develop tools and processes within the department

Required profile

• Secondary school or university degree in a technical field; experience is a plus
• Ability to work responsibly on projects with a focus on functionality and efficiency
• Systematic thinking with attention to detail and willingness to learn

Required skills

• Tekla Structures, SCIA Engineer and IdeaStatika are a plus; they will be taught if you do not know them
