DevOps Engineer – Cloud Migration (Lift & Shift)

About the role

Avenga is expanding its cloud transformation program and needs a DevOps Engineer to lead lift‑and‑shift migrations of core business applications to Microsoft Azure. You will ensure high‑availability rehosting while laying the groundwork for future cloud optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute migration of on‑premises workloads to Azure with minimal downtime.
• Assess applications, dependencies and networking to design the Azure landing zone.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and migration runbooks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for post‑migration release management.
• Administer Windows/Linux servers, SQL Server databases, and web/proxy layers.
• Configure monitoring, backup and disaster‑recovery, and perform post‑migration validation.
• Troubleshoot production and cut‑over issues in collaboration with development and support teams.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Azure IaaS services (VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage, VPN/ExpressRoute).
• Experience with Azure migration tools such as Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery.
• Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash or Python) and IaC (Terraform, Bicep or ARM).
• Fluent in Czech or Slovak and able to write technical documentation in English.
