General Ledger Accountant

About the role

General Ledger Accountant is responsible for a variety of general accounting functions, including month‑end journal entries, closings, tax reporting and payroll reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries in the general ledger system, covering splits, re‑classes, accruals, reserves, deferred charges, sales commissions, marketing invoices and inter‑company documents.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts such as trade payables, receivables, accrued and prepaid items, inter‑company cash, deposits, rents, legal and professional fees.
• Produce balance‑sheet, income‑statement and statistical reports, load data for consolidation and support income‑tax statement preparation.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs and revenues to provide actionable information for management.
• Carry out miscellaneous general accounting tasks, develop standard operating processes, prepare documentation and cooperate with internal and external auditors.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Secondary or university education, preferably in Economics.
• Advanced level of English; Italian is a plus.
• Working experience in general ledger accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced PC literacy (MS Office) and knowledge of Oracle or SAP is desirable.
• Personal attributes: responsible, methodical, accurate, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, reliable, independent, team player, stress‑resistant and flexible.
