General Ledger Specialist (AtR) – Prague

About the role

The AtR General Ledger Specialist ensures that the transactions of all markets supported by the business unit in Prague are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting process. The role works closely with Local Finance Teams so that accounting records accurately reflect business results and comply with US GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general ledger support and analysis, including period-end financial close for Europe
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date accounting ledger by posting all required items on time
• Ensure transactions are correctly reflected in the ledger on a country basis
• Deliver accurate, timely period reporting in line with corporate and country requirements
• Carry out monthly account reconciliations in line with corporate standards
• Review and sign off the final financial package and Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Review the trial balance, identify trends, analyse variances and explain accounts, with support from senior colleagues
• Identify opportunities to streamline service delivery, participate in projects and help drive standardization and automation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting department of a multinational company
• Business-level English speaking and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Desired: SAP, IFRS, US GAAP and balance sheet reconciliation experience
