Procurement Specialist – Direct Materials

About the role

Vilgain is expanding its in‑house production and needs a Procurement Specialist to secure packaging materials and ingredients that keep manufacturing lines running smoothly. You will own the sourcing process for direct materials, ensuring reliable supply, cost efficiency, and scalability for new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Source, select, and manage suppliers of packaging materials and ingredients.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery conditions.
• Lead RFQs, supplier comparisons, tenders, and other sourcing initiatives.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, reliability, pricing, lead times, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to guarantee material availability.
• Identify cost‑optimization and process‑improvement opportunities.
• Analyse spend and performance data to support data‑driven decisions.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on procurement performance.
• Participate in standardising procurement processes and workflows.

Required profile

• Approximately 2+ years of procurement experience in direct materials, manufacturing, production, or packaging categories.
• Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with suppliers.
• Experience leading RFQs/tenders and evaluating procurement conditions.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work with data.
