Project Manager (French-speaking)

About the role

ABB's Operations Center in Ostrava is looking for a Project Manager to join a team delivering automation solutions for the pulp and paper industry. The role reports to the PM Team Leader and covers projects from initiation to customer handover, with colleagues and clients across several European countries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage automation system projects for pulp and paper mills across Europe.
• Act as the main customer contact throughout project execution.
• Coordinate project teams and ensure delivery within quality, schedule and budget.
• Work with technical specialists, sales teams and other ABB units in an international setting.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation according to ABB's internal processes.
• Identify risks, propose corrective actions and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review completed projects, share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support the sales team during proposal preparation and give expert input on future projects.

Required profile

• University degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related discipline.
• Project management experience, preferably in a technical or industrial environment.
• Fluent English and French for daily communication with customers and colleagues.
• Strong customer relationship building and cross-team communication skills.
• Proactive, well organised and accountable for results.

Required skills

• Knowledge of automation systems.
• Experience in process automation or the pulp and paper industry is an advantage.
