Senior QA Engineer - Test Automation & Platform Quality

About the role

As a Senior QA Engineer at Cloudera's Taikun team, you will own the quality of the Taikun platform, including deployed Kubernetes clusters, its APIs and the user interface. You will expand and maintain automated testing frameworks and run exploratory testing when needed, working closely with developers, DevOps and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automated tests for the Taikun platform (UI, APIs and deployed cloud infrastructure)
• Use Python and other test automation tools to expand end-to-end test coverage
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with development teams
• Perform manual and exploratory testing for features not yet covered by automation
• Troubleshoot, analyze and report issues, and identify gaps in test coverage
• Mentor junior QA engineers and document test cases, automation strategies and results

Required profile

• 4+ years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent) in a relevant field; experienced candidates without a degree are welcome
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and good collaboration and communication skills

Required skills

• Hands-on Python for end-to-end testing
• API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured or Swagger
• Test automation in CI/CD pipelines
• Linux command-line proficiency and troubleshooting
• Nice to have: performance/load testing tools (K6, Locust), Kubernetes or containers, Terraform or Ansible, AWS/GCP/Azure, open-source contributions
