Software Builder – Biometric Identity Systems

About the role

Innovatrics is hiring a Software Builder in Brno to own biometric identity systems used by governments, banks and security agencies (face recognition, fingerprint matching, identity verification at airports and borders). The role moves away from developers owning slices of an epic to a single person owning the whole feature, from first commit to production, using AI agents as the default way of working with Claude Code as the standard.

Key responsibilities

• Own features end to end: design, implementation, evaluation and deployment, with correctness verified as if you wrote every line yourself.
• Write evals as part of delivery so correctness is demonstrated rather than assumed.
• Improve the shared agent setup: fix context, prompts and harnesses so the same mistakes do not recur.
• Make deliberate choices on when AI is the wrong tool, such as for security-sensitive code, novel biometric algorithms and deep-system work.
• Work across the stack your product needs and collaborate with product and other engineers.
• Mid-level: own complex work autonomously, design a service end to end and stand behind its architecture.
• Senior-level: turn a high-impact requirement into a shipped solution across team boundaries, help define the team's agent strategy, own the team's eval discipline and build the harnesses and skills the team depends on.

Required profile

• Solid grounding in system design, including failures, retries, ordering and scale.
• Experience shipping real things to real users and explaining what broke and what was learned.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents (Claude Code or comparable) and a clear-eyed view of their limitations.
• Habit of verification, comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward done over perfect.
• Mid-level: autonomous ownership of complex work and investment in the team's shared agent setup.
• Senior-level: cross-team delivery, defining agent strategy, mentoring engineers and articulating design taste.

Required skills

• Comfort across more than one language or stack, with depth in at least one.
• Nice to have: Java, Python, Go, C++, TypeScript, Kotlin or Swift.
• Nice to have: familiarity with biometrics, computer vision or identity verification.
• Nice to have: evaluation pipelines, test harnesses, CI quality gates, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Kubernetes/Docker.

• Base salary gross from 3,700 to 5,000 EUR per month, with variable compensation and a benefits package.

The interview process includes a recruiter screen, a 3-hour offline assignment, an onsite technical interview and a final CARES values interview, followed by reference checks and background verification.
