Software Embedded Engineer

About the role

NXP Semiconductors is looking for a technical university student or graduate (Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or similar) to join its team in Brno. The team develops and tests peripheral and graphics drivers for QNX, Green Hills Integrity and Android Automotive operating systems on i.MX application processors. The role suits someone with interest or experience in embedded C/C++ development.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarise quickly with i.MX (ARM) architecture and QNX, Green Hills Integrity or Android Automotive operating systems
• Take part in developing and porting peripheral and graphics drivers
• Support complex software layers and demo/test applications
• Contribute to test development and automation (the team defines tests but is not a dedicated testing team)
• Study technical documentation and create and maintain high-quality technical documentation
• Collaborate with the team on tasks of varying complexity and stay up to date with embedded development tools and best practices

Required profile

• Ongoing studies or recent graduation in Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or similar
• Interest or experience in C/C++ embedded development
• Good written English; strong spoken English is a plus
• Willingness to work in an evolving technical environment
• Valid visa and work permit to work in the Czech Republic

Required skills

• C/C++ embedded development
• Linux and Git are an advantage
• Basic knowledge of ARM processors or NXP i.MX architecture is a plus
• Familiarity with QNX Momentics Studio, Green Hills MULTI and embedded development kits
