Android Software Engineer

About the role

Global Payments Europe is looking for an Android Software Engineer to join its Applications System Development team in Prague. You will design, develop and deliver Android features, from requirements through implementation, producing secure, reliable and high-performance mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical design and architecture of assigned features, working with product owners, architects, QA engineers and fellow developers.
• Plan and execute development by breaking features into tasks, estimating effort and tracking progress.
• Improve code quality through code reviews, coding standards and modern Android practices.
• Build and maintain unit tests, support automated testing initiatives and resolve technical issues independently.

Required profile

• 3+ years of Android development experience, building and supporting production-grade apps.
• Ability to communicate in Czech at B1 level.
• Strong experience integrating APIs, SDKs and third-party libraries.
• Expertise in secure mobile development, including code obfuscation, encryption, HTTPS/TLS and Android KeyStore/KeyChain.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java with strong proficiency in the Android SDK.
• Modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, clean architecture, dependency injection and scalable design.
