Category Leader – IT

About the role

The Category Leader – IT drives sourcing activities across IT categories such as SaaS, cloud solutions, hardware, services and licensing. Operating in a regulated generic pharmaceutical environment, the role ensures IT performance, cybersecurity, compliance and cost efficiency while supporting digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the global IT category strategy in collaboration with the Category Manager and procurement leadership.
• Lead tactical sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs, bid evaluation, contract negotiation) for IT hardware, software and services.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance monitoring and risk mitigation including cybersecurity assessments.
• Support major IT programs including ERP roll‑outs, cloud migrations and digital initiatives.
• Deliver cost‑control measures, track savings and contribute to budgeting and ESG integration.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Pharmacy or related field.
• 3‑6 years of hands‑on procurement experience, preferably in indirect spend and regulated environments.
• Proven ability to run sourcing events, negotiate contracts and manage global suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in cross‑functional, international settings.
