Payroll Specialist - German Payroll

About the role

Global Payments Europe is looking for a Payroll Specialist (German Payroll) to join its Global Payroll team in Prague. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for Germany, acting as the main point of contact for payroll questions and partnering with external payroll vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Germany, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in line with legislation and internal controls
• Act as the primary contact for payroll queries, advising on payroll, taxes, social security contributions and deductions
• Partner with external payroll vendors to ensure service excellence, compliance and adherence to agreed service levels
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations and validations to keep data accurate across payroll and HR systems
• Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes, controls and employee experience

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience managing German payroll, with strong knowledge of German payroll legislation, taxation, statutory reporting and compliance
• Fluent German and English, able to explain complex payroll matters to a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience with payroll providers, payroll systems and HRIS platforms in a corporate or shared services setting
• Bonus: experience in a multinational or global payroll environment, exposure to payroll projects or system implementations, and experience mentoring junior payroll staff

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including data analysis, Pivot Tables and lookup functions, with the ability to handle large data sets
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to manage several priorities under tight deadlines
