Senior FX Developer and Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Barclays is looking for a Senior FX Developer and Infrastructure Engineer to join its Prague office. The role designs, develops and improves software that delivers business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues, using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools. It is a senior, leadership-level position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions with scalable, maintainable and performant code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers on requirements, solution strategies and integration.
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay up to date with technology trends.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement unit testing.
• Contribute to strategy, plan resources and budgets, and advise stakeholders and senior management.
• Manage and mitigate risks, strengthen controls and support the control and governance agenda.
• Lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and coach less experienced specialists.

Required profile

• Extensive Linux systems experience.
• Prior extensive engineering experience with C++, C# or Java.
• Troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to advise stakeholders, analyse complex alternatives and build partnerships with internal and external partners.

Required skills

• Shell and Python scripting.
• Nice to have: CI/CD systems, configuration management and pipeline deployment.
• Nice to have: Oracle SQL or database fundamentals.

What we offer

• Salary range of 1,884,000 to 2,301,000 CZK per year (base salary only).
